| We are looking forward to our trip this year
because last year our journey to meet Tom & Liz in Reno was cancelled at
the last minute when Sandy needed open heart surgery. So far (Knock
on Wood) We will leave on May 21st from
Kent, WA and our 1st stop will be
in
Hermiston, Oregon to spend the weekend with our son Jim and his wife
Melanie. From there we will drive thru the middle of Oregon entering Northern California for a while then enter Nevada just North of Reno. We will spend 3 nights at the Atlantis Casino Hotel. We will get to visit with our friend Diana. Then its across the desert down to Las Vegas where we'll spend three nights at Bally's on the Strip.. that is just across from Caesar's Palace. We'll visit with our nephew William and his wife. He works for Southwest Airlines at the Vegas airport. Then we will drive over Hoover Dam into Arizona and to the Tucson area and Benson where Sandy's brother lives. We'll spend about a week there, and I'll go down and see Tombstone. Or as Montana & Marino call it.. TUNESTONE On June 6th we are meeting my cousin Jane from South Carolina in Holbrook, AZ. They will be driving over from Texas where they will be visiting relatives. For the next 4 days we will caravan together... first stop is St. George, Utah. We will then go to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park and then spend the night in Page, AZ. From there we'll drive thru the Monument Valley, The Four Corners and end up in Durango, Colorado. Then we'll make the drive to Colorado Springs. We leave Jane and Deward on June 11th and will zip across Colorado and Kansas to the suburbs of Kansas City where our friends Tom & Liz live in Prairie Village, Kansas. Nick and his wife Linda will drive up from Oklahoma City and we'll spend the weekend there. June 14th we'll head back going thru Denver, Salt Lake City, Boise then back to son Jim's place in Hermiston, Oregon then home. I'll post pictures here as we go... so check this page out.
